TIPS FOR THE NEW DRIVER

When turning a corner let the steering wheel slide through your fingers to complete a smooth turn.  If your intersection is unmarked, look for a “manhole cover”. This can help with your lane positioning.  Make sure you are mentally prepared to drive. Concentrate on the task at hand.

 

Homework: Read Chapter 3 section 1,2 and 3

Questions:

1.Why can you not rely totally on your rear view mirror?

2. Why do you not use your cruise control on slippery roads, heavily traveled roads or at night? Give a situation for each.
